Palestine vs Israel: Apartheid or Self-Defense?

Israel's so-called 'self-defense' is a hollow excuse for a campaign of collective punishment that has killed over 40,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Where is the precision in bombing a refugee camp? Where is the self-defense in starving an entire population of food, water, and medicine? If Israel truly sought to protect its citizens, it would not be dropping 2,000-pound bombs on densely populated civilian areas, knowing full well that Hamas is embedded there. It would use diplomacy, not destruction. The apartheid label is not a smear—it is a factual description of a system where Palestinians live under military law, are denied basic rights, and are subjected to a system of checkpoints, walls, and land confiscation that mirrors the worst of South Africa. Israeli Arabs may have some rights, but they are second-class citizens compared to Jewish Israelis, and the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza have no rights at all—they are stateless, landless, and at the mercy of a military occupation that has lasted over 50 years. The claim that Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005 is a red herring; it merely turned Gaza into an open-air prison, blockaded by land, sea, and air, where 2 million people are trapped and bombed with impunity. That is apartheid, and no amount of PR can whitewash it. And what of the 'human shields' argument? It is a cynical inversion of reality. Hamas does not want civilians to die, but Israel's disproportionate response is designed to maximize Palestinian casualties, not minimize them. If Israel truly cared about civilian lives, it would not bomb a hospital or a school without proof of military use.
