Israel's Gaza Offensive: Self-Defense or Genocide?

Israel's offensive is not self-defense; it is a systematic, genocidal campaign cloaked in the rhetoric of security. The October 7th attack was horrific, but it does not grant Israel a blank check to commit war crimes. The International Court of Justice has already found it 'plausible' that Israel is committing genocide, and the evidence is in the numbers: over 30,000 dead, two-thirds of them women and children, with entire neighborhoods, universities, and hospitals reduced to rubble. This is not surgical precision; this is collective punishment. Israel is not targeting Hamas; it is targeting the very fabric of Palestinian life, destroying the ability of an entire people to survive, let alone thrive. When you level a bakery and then blame the hungry for looting, you are not defending yourself—you are engineering starvation. The claim that Israel warns civilians is a sick joke. Where are they supposed to go? The so-called 'safe zones' are routinely bombed, and the borders are sealed—Egypt won't open Rafah, and Israel controls every crossing. This is a cage, and Israel is the zookeeper deciding who gets to feed. The 'human shields' argument is a grotesque inversion of reality: Hamas does embed in civilian areas, but that does not excuse Israel's disproportionate use of force. International law requires proportionality and distinction, not a policy of 'anything goes because the enemy is evil.' If a sniper hides in a school, you do not bomb the entire school with the children inside. You send in special forces. Israel's choice to use 2,000-pound bombs in densely populated areas is a deliberate strategy of maximum destruction, not a tragic necessity. And this is not about Israel's existence—it is about its expansionist ambitions. The West Bank, which has no Hamas, is under the same relentless settlement expansion and military violence. This is a land grab, a slow-motion Nakba, and Gaza is the testing ground for total erasure. The world is choosing sides, yes, but the digital battlefield is exposing the truth: Israel's 'self-defense' is a euphemism for ethnic cleansing, and its 'right to exist' is being used to erase the Palestinians' right to exist.
